Square Enix, a leading video game company, created one of the most popular video games in history known as Final Fantasy. From 1987 to the present day, this game as dominated the role playing video game genre and has become a worldwide phenomena. Each new installment added more depth to the game and a new set of characters. Final Fantasy VII introduced a new female character known as Tifa.
Tifa was designed by Tetsuya Normura as a mini-skirted protagonist with long flowing hair. Almost overnight she became a fan favorite and has generated a large following of devoted fans. In 1996 Rumiko Takashi wrote and illustrated a manga series known as InuYasha which became one of the most popular series in all of Japan. The story about a time traveling middle school adolescent that has three eccentric companions (a lecherous monk, a half demon, and a demon fox) concluded in 2008. Almost immediately the Japanese doujinshi began producing hentai parodies of the series and its’ characters.
If an individual were to type the words ‘Inuyasha’, ‘hentai’, and ‘free’ in any order, several links to website will be presented, but the users must beware: not all of these sites are actually ‘free’. Japanese hentai was for a long time found almost exclusively in mangas (Japanese word for comics). Hentai is the Japanese word meaning ‘sexually perverse’ and is used to describe any production or material that is explicitly sexual in content. As the process for making animated cartoons (anime) became more advanced and more economical to produce, hentai began to appear in short anime video clips. These clips would be in the form of short intense sexual scenes that lasted only a minute or two. Sometime these clips would actually be portions of longer anime movies, but early on they were the only anime videos to be found.
As longer hentai anime films were made, more clips were produced and placed on websites on the internet. Many of these websites are dedicated to a specific form of hentai and some are only about a particular series or character.
